A new and more streamlined pathway to the Indonesian consumer market is opening for Finnish and Swedish food and consumer goods companies as Seven Stones Finland and International Halal Prime (IHPrime) launch a partnership to provide a one-stop halal certification service.
The partnership offers a comprehensive service that helps companies obtain the halal certification required for products entering the Indonesian market.
Access to the Indonesian market requires halal certification and halal labeling. From October 2026 onwards, the requirement will extend beyond food products to cover a wide range of consumer goods and will gradually be introduced for pharmaceuticals and medical devices as well.
“Halal is often associated only with food and beverages, but it should be understood much more broadly. In practice, halal requirements apply to almost everything that comes into contact with consumers,” explains Tanja Harjuniemi, Managing Director of Seven Stones Finland.
Non-halal products can still be imported and sold in Indonesia, but they must be clearly labeled as non-halal.
Seven Stones is responsible for client relations and initial training in Finland and Sweden, while IHPrime acts as the operational lead in Indonesia, managing the technical implementation of the certification process and coordinating with local authorities and certification bodies.
“Halal certification is not just a checklist; it is a comprehensive quality assurance system that covers the entire supply chain. It extends from sourcing raw materials to manufacturing, packaging, storage, logistics, and distribution,” says Mohammad Zen, Managing Director of IHPrime.
“We support companies throughout the certification process and ensure that it progresses smoothly, efficiently, and in full compliance with all applicable requirements,” Zen adds.
Before the formal certification process begins, companies participate in an initial training programme.
“Through this process, we ensure that a company, its products, and its production processes are ready for certification before significant time and resources are invested. This helps minimise risks and provides a clear understanding of the requirements, costs, and timelines involved,” Harjuniemi says.
